What shoes should I wear for a duathlon?

I run primarily. I really want to use good running shoes but the laces have become a hazard. I do not want clip ins. Any suggestions?

Here’s the dilemma. A running shoes wants to be flexible and shock absorbing. A cycling shoe wants to be as stiff as possible. You can see the 2 are mutually exclusive.
If you are insisting that you don’t want to swap shoes, then get a pair flat platform shoes with toe straps and clips. Most good bikes shops should have something in stock for just such purposes. The reason I suggest that is to give your foot as much contact surface with the pedal as possible.
