What is the significance of taking your shoes off as you enter a home?
Ryan C asked:
In some cultures it is considered an insult to leave your shoes on as you enter a home, in others, like some American homes, it is not. Why is it insulting or rude or disrespectful to leave your shoes on, and what is the story behind taking off one’s shoes as they enter a home?
