Chey asked:

I am in JROTC, and they really haven’t gone over shoe shining, and my shoes need it bad. Well I have shoe shine, and rags for it, but it looks really bad, any advice?

you know how to do a basic spit shine? its easy
*apply a layer of polish over your shoes. do not shine or buff, just let them sit over night. you want the polish to dry and form a base on your shoes
*the next day, take a slightly damp rag and get a TINY bit of shoepolish on it. rub it into the shoe in a small circle.
*once the polish is gone, rewet your cloth (if its dry..if its still damp no need to) and put another tiny bit of shoepolish on it. rub it into the shoe in a small circle that slightly overlaps your last one.
*repeat until whole shoe is shined that way. alexander m

Cotton balls work better, old sheet cotton they used for bandages if you can still find any (try the drug store, talk to the pharmacist). Warbird Pilot

ok first of all if they are a plasticy kind of shoe that were shiny to begin with shoe shine was a bad idea on plastic type uniform shoes like in army jrotc you only use windex shoe shine on plastic ruins it perminant
but if they are real leather then do what the other guys said dylan c
