We are going to the beach this summer. What are good shoes for a 1 and 2 year old to walk on hot sand and wear in the water? links would be appreciated.

Water shoes are awesome. You can get them at Wal-Mart and they’re inexpensive!! Some places call them aqua shoes. Flamingo

Rubber or plastic sandals if they are not old enough for flip flops. The sand washes out easily and they dry out quickly. Bare feet are fine in the water. JAWS

Water shoes would be good but my aunt just got back from CA and she said that she got my cousin some Crocs and they helped because they were easy to put on and you could rinse the sand off and they dried easily. sarah452m

Personally I think water shoes would work better for younger children, they are less likely to slip off than the crocs. A great brand is bical and they are soooo cute!!! Have fun at the beach!!

We just returned from the beach a couple weeks ago for the second time this summer. I used crocs on my son who is 14 months. You can find kids one’s at walmart for about $4-5 a pair. They were great because he could walk in them but they clean up super easy as well with a little water.

You could also buy water sock type shoes that are more fitting to the foot as well.

To be honest though once we got settled on our blankets and things at the beach we were all barefoot- even my son- and it worked fine. You really only need shoes to walk on the beach and off the beach because your either playing around in sand or in water anyway. ladedamom
