What are good shoes for standing in for long periods of time?

How to stop shoes slipping off a chrome shoe rack?

Does anyone have any suggestions to what could be done to prevent it? I thought about sticking some thin, clear rubber strip of some sort on the poles, but not sure where to get it from, or if would work.

Since the track is not always available and walking through town is a lot less boring I was wondering if there is any special type of shoes to use for walking on concrete?
