Email me for advice! asked:

I have a pair of old tennis shoes that are sort of old. I washed them in the washer so they would be clean and I don’t know what else to do with them. I got new laces for them and stuff but I want the shoe itself to look different. Can I bleach the shoe to make it white then just color it or something? Thanks. I like edgy styles by the way.

I just got a new pair of brown leather shoes and they get scuffed up very easily. I can leave scuff marks just by hitting them with a fingernail when I tie the laces. Are there any products for leather shoes that help with this? I’ve seen polishes and leather conditioners and things that just cover up the scuff marks but I don’t know what I need.

I run primarily. I really want to use good running shoes but the laces have become a hazard. I do not want clip ins. Any suggestions?

I thought they were called Kaapas but a search online has turned up nothing. Most of the time they were white and you could buy these little plastic things to swap out on the shoe. They were low cut but had a top lace and bottom lace. Completely ridiculous shoes but in Texas they were popular for a brief time.

I am a little confused. Besides the fact that they have laces, what is the difference between clogging shoes and tap shoes?
