What are the best shoes to wear as a waitress?

I am not about to go out and buy 50 dollar vans and get them dirty.

My daily exercises start off with me on a thread mill, and then I shift towards the weights. (Dumbbells, barbells, etc)
I would also like to know, what is the difference between Training shoes and running shoes?
