How do you remove dents from leather shoes?

I need to learn a good way to get a shine on leather shoes. I have been working at it for awhile, and there is a decent shine developing, but the polish begins to crack and doesn’t look so good.
Why does the polish crack and how do I prevent it?
So far I have just been using water and small amounts of polish and layering it on. I have been told to use Kiwi since it is the best polish… does it really make that much of a difference?

I am lost as to which color shoes go best with a navy blue suit. I currently wear black shoes, but I’ve also heard that black and navy blue clash. I think it looks ok, though. Would dark brown or another color shoe go better with the suit? Also, what color belt should I wear?
