How tight should my track shoes be?

They are kind of tight but i can still move my toes a little.
I’m planning on doing the 800m and 400m.
Should i get a 1/2 size larger? Or is it suppose to be tight?

Why are the very flat and thin soled Asics shoes getting to popular now?

Not converse. Shoes like Asics and Puma that have very flat soles.
