    The term ‘dichotomous’ means to cut in two.

    So, first determine two major categories of foot coverings. I’d start with ‘high top shoes (boots)’ and low cut shoes.

    Within each of those categories you must find a way of division. Perhaps in the boot category you might have ‘high heels’ and ‘low heels’. In the other category of low top shoes you could divide them into casual shoes and not casual.

    Now, let’s concentrate on the low top category of casual shoes. Divide that category into exercise shoes and non-exercise shoes. Then in the exercise shoe category divide it into running shoes and non-running shoes. In the non-running classification divide it into weight lifting shoes and non-weightlifting shoes …
