How to stop shoes slipping off a chrome shoe rack?

Jamie S asked:

We have a three tier metal shoe rack with sloping racks made up of thin poles, but a lot of shoes with no tread slip off.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what could be done to prevent it? I thought about sticking some thin, clear rubber strip of some sort on the poles, but not sure where to get it from, or if would work.

Any relevant suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank
Ideally I’d like it to be as un-noticable as possible, which is why I thought of something clear that could be stuck on

good one George!… I got the no-slip treads for steps in my laundry room and I think they’d work just fine on those slippery metal bars…..

this looks like the same stuff I got, just cut in a tape sorta size… meanolmaw

I know they make a paint for boats that is skid resistant I am just not sure if it comes in clear but if you check on line you might be able to find a source that sells it close by usually a boat shop or a place like one of those hunting and fishing places Gregory
