Physics Guy asked:

How much will it cost to replace ONLY the rear brake shoes on a 1988 Cadillac Seville? Also, can you recommend any shops?

really depends most shops should be under a $100.00 either by installing shoes or pads and that should include turning rotors or drums

If the rear brake shoes are making a grinding noise then you’ll need brake drums as well, just the brake shoes will run you about $30.00, the brake drums will run you about $35.00@ x 2 = $70.00, these prices are just for the parts, providing you do the replace yourself, if you have to take it to a brake shop you might have to shell out $185.00 - $225.00 for this work and parts, it’s not a hard job and saving money with these gas prices is a plus, good luck.

If you figure on $150 to do the job you will be in the ball park.
