How much different are narrow width shoes than regular?

I usually buy regular width shoes, but I found a very nice pair of shoes, but the only potential problem is they are a narrow width. Can I wear them comfortably anyway or not?
they are flats
I’m buying them on line so I have no idea how they will fit.

    If flats normally have about a finger size of extra space on the side then you’ll be fine, if not they might be a little tight. Sandy
