My son came home from daycare today with his new shoes covered in tree sap. The day care director advised me to use a paper towel….guess shes never had this problem. It’s even on the velcro…are these shoes now permanent play shoes or is there anything that will do the trick?

We had that problem with our shoes last fall, when the remnants of hurricane Ike blew through Ohio, and blew green needles off of the pine trees. We all had pine sap on all of our shoes. What an icky mess. I used both fingernail polish remover and rubbing alcohol, finally got it off, with a small stiff brush, and the alcohol. What a mess that was. I wish you luck. Joan H

hi..if u can wash them in the washing machine, put hand cleaner (like mechanics use) on them and let them sit for an hour or so. the hand cleaner has aloe and lanolin in (well that is the kind i use and can buy at either walmart or canadian tire). it does not have grit in it. earlier today i got a grease stain out of a quilted baby blanket i had made. the grease came from my sewing machine. i had tried a laundry presoak but it did not do anything. mar

Try Goop-Begone you can find it @ Wal Mart in the paint section. That stuff is good for just about anything. Especially removing crayons from any surface. I work @ a daycare and we use it a lot for all kinds of purposes. Mulan
