Does getting new shoes on your horse make you feel all warm and fuzzy?

Do you feel that bit of pride when your horse gets new shoes or do you get more of a gut wrenching feeling because it cost so much?
Actully the boots I wear weight more than my horses shoes. So….. I’m pretty sure if I can tote mine around he can too.

horses (in my opinion ) like to be barefoot, they dont feel heavy stepped and honestly would you like to get some iron heavy shoes nailed to your feet
holy crap that would piss me off
i would kick the farrier in the stomach
but my horse had them once and i was like awh even though it cost an arm - he looks cute in silver shoes

although both my horses have been barefoot for a while now, my older mare’s retired so she doesn’t need shoes and my younger mare I just haven’t been doing anything with so shoes would be a total waste of money! loggy

My TB mare needs shoes as she has very tender soles on the front.
Without shoes she is s l o w and obviously not “lovin” the ride, even at a walk in the grass…but as soon as she has her new shoes on - her gaits suddenly have spring, her ears are up and she is soooooooo obviously happy.
Worth every cent to see her go from “acting her age” (21 in March) to moving like a youngster! Pans’Mom
