Do stores have to send shoes back to distribution centers or manufacturers if shoes are returned to them?
mattgade asked:
I had heard that there is a supposed policy that says if a store like the finish line or footlocker has a pair of shoes that are returned, they must send them back to the distribution center. Even if the shoes were not ever worn, they are supposed to send them back. Now I know that most managers will just put them back on the shelf, but, are they supposed to send them back? Is there any law that says they have to send returned merchandise back to the manufacturer?

You should call them up and ask.
No, that’s not true. Even shoes that have been tried on at home (on a carpet) and show no signs of wear can be returned and put back on the shelf. This is often stated on your receipt.
P.S. And if bowling shoes can be re-worn, so can brand new, saleable shoes.
