How to stop shoes slipping off a chrome shoe rack?

We have a three tier metal shoe rack with sloping racks made up of thin poles, but a lot of shoes with no tread slip off.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what could be done to prevent it? I thought about sticking some thin, clear rubber strip of some sort on the poles, but not sure where to get it from, or if would work.
Any relevant suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank
Ideally I’d like it to be as un-noticable as possible, which is why I thought of something clear that could be stuck on

My hubby and I both have a pair of tennis shoes that just squeek when you walk. His are very expensive, mine are not, but I’d like to save both pairs. We just can’t stand to work in them when they are squeeking and making all eyes turn our way (and away from their work). I’m a teacher, so this is a big deal. I hate to get rid of good shoes.

oh im afraid that hot glue will bleed through the gum wrappers. but it might work
