There’s a lot of options out there. My friend (a girl) said that a pair of cheap shoes (like $75) will last only half a year, but a more expensive pair (like $200) will last a lot longer. I’m 20, so my feet shouldn’t be growing THAT much, but what do I need to take into account when it comes to sizes and price options?

I’m a dancer and I live in NYC. At the ABT studios they have a box in the dressing room where you can donate your used pointe shoes. Does anyone know where else I can donate my pointe shoes? I have lots lying around that I can’t use anymore. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently using chacotts, and will be moving up onto a hard shank(sp?). I dance for about 1/2 hour on Mondays and Thursdays, and then with rehersals and other things that require me to wear them throughout the week as well- times varying. I seem to go through a pair of shoes every 3 months. What can I do to make my pointe shoes last longer?

I already bought three pairs this year, I just started and its really frusterating to not be able to dance because of bad shoes. The first ones I got were gamba’s, and they were too big. Then I got glissers (capezios) and they were too small. I thought I got the perfect ones, but apparently there too big on one of my feet (ones bigger then the other), and my foots too wide for the top of the shoe. I need someone who has done this before to help, I’m so lost. How can you tell what fits, because apparently I can’t.
